Aira POV

The Red Blood Pack was far beyond what I had imagined, it was enormous, elegant, and just as magnificent as ours back home.

When we arrived, Clara was the first to welcome us. She looked radiant, her pregnancy barely visible but enough to notice, and beside her stood her young son. He didn’t resemble her much—his sharp, commanding features were undoubtedly inherited from his father. From what I had heard, he was six years old, and the way he looked at me made me stifle a laugh. It was that curious, cautious gaze that said, “Mom, who is this stranger?”

Though Clara and I had kept in touch after that incident, it had only ever been through occasional calls. I had spoken with her husband a handful of times, but never with their son. Seeing him now, standing so still and serious, I couldn’t help but feel a swell of affection. That boy was my grandson and I had always had a soft spot for children.

“Welcome,” Clara said warmly, embracing me gently.
