Emma blinked; little did he know what his words caused in her; her heart shrank in her chest, and she shook her head hard to clear her head of the doubts that suddenly assaulted her. He sounded really worried, and she could see the same indecipherable gleam in those eyes that she loved so much.

“Right now, you both look like a couple of children,” Damian asked, looking at them both and then turning to his alpha. “Stop growling and trying to calm down.”

“My partner is playing with her life on the edge of the balcony!” He burst out, “How the hell do you expect me to calm down?”
