Chapter 18

Erian took a bag of blood from the small refrigerator in the office, where he had placed it earlier, and paced around his office like a caged tiger. He did that for over an hour before shedding enough energy to be able to relax somewhat and sit down. He didn’t know if it was his anger or the caffeine that had turned him upside down.

And he didn’t care.

Erian did not sleep well. He rested in his coffin out of sheer boredom after Charlotte’s departure, but he could not rest as he had wished. The woman had invaded his home and had already invaded his dreams as well, whether he knew it or not. This fact was enough to make him grumpy when he awoke, and it was a sullen Erian who came downstairs on Saturday afternoon. And he became even grumpier after checking a glance around the house to see that Charlotte had not yet returned from her shopping trip.
