“Look out!” Erian exclaimed, approaching at an impressive speed and grabbing the pot from his unsteady grip.

Charlotte looked at him with her eyes wide open in shock; she hadn’t even heard him approach; her hand flew to her chest, right where her heart was beating at an impressive speed; the man was about to give her a heart attack!

Despite this, he had the decency to look contrite.

“I’m sorry; I didn’t mean to scare you,” He muttered as he reached over and took her hands in his. “Did you get burned?”

Charlotte was still getting over the shock and deep down a spark of anger was beginning to concentrate inside her, yet she could barely utter a word when his hands took hers, the hairs on the back of her neck stood up and she swallowed saliva conscious of the new and accelerated heart rate in her chest, now it had nothing to do with fear, but quite the opposite.
