The drive home was in awkward silence on the part of the three of us.

Dad’s knuckles were white” knuckled from clenching the steering wheel, just like Nix, only this one was holding on to the car door; for my part, I was in the back seat, wanting to scream and curse to the four winds but instead I thought about every moment I was with him at the party, Sooner or later my father will have to give me to him despite my decision, no matter what I told him, I know he will not give up, even if I have to leave my family and go with him, maybe he will let me stay with my father and Nix for a few days, right?

Tears pooled in my eyes.

Why are you doing this to me, Goddess? I thought angrily and wanted to cry.
