Chapter 19
Zena’s POV
I had just come back from the sauna when I noticed a letter peeking out from under my bed. I smiled. It was from Thor. He had left a message for me. I picked it up and read it. He had gone on a trip the day before and wasn’t sure how long he would be away, but he hoped to make it back for the ball.
I immediately felt sad. This was the first ball we were going to attend together without his father, and I was looking forward to it.
I wasn’t quite sure how Thor had taken the news of his father’s death when I told him a few years ago. His reaction had taken me aback, and I was still shocked when I remembered it. Thor had simply nodded his head, his face expressionless. He didn’t show any sadness or astonishment.
At that point, I was so broken that after I had done my job of telling him about his father’s murder, I immediately retired to mourn him. It was then that my health started deteriorating. I hadn’t thought about how Thor felt and how he was cop
