Chapter 24
Yaya’s POV
“Alright, girls, I’d like to say well done and good job. You all performed excellently yesterday; the ball was a success.” The girls briefly applauded in acknowledgment of my good comments. “Now, we must resume our duties. You all know what you have to do today. Ensure you carry out each and every task well. That’ll be all, thank you.”
It was very chilly in the morning, and I tried not to keep the girls for too long. The maids took shifts, and the ones on duty throughout the night had retired, so we had another set for the day.
As the girls dispersed to begin their work, I caught sight of Charlotte. She had recovered tremendously; she almost didn’t look like the same person brought into the palace some time ago, covered in blood and dirt.
