Chapter 33
Kane’s POV
I headed to Zena’s quarters, which was not very far from Thor’s suite. This wasn’t the first time that Thor would leave the castle on a “short” trip. Although he didn’t do it often, when he did, he always took me along. I didn’t want to believe it was the argument we had in the fields the last time that made him not take me with him this time, or worse, made him leave in the first place. Not many things could get to Thor, but he hated to be contradicted by his family. And I am his family.
Personally, when I got back to my suite the night of our argument, I confided in Gina. She told me I probably should not have yelled at him. He had just found out that a woman he didn’t know anything about was his mate. She wasn’t the exact person he would have picked as a life partner if he had a choice, and he was probably confused and upset. What if he hadn’t saved her that night? His mate would have been lost, probably died out there. I accepted my mistake.
