Corie’s POV
We were having lunch, Eloise and I. She had finally gotten rid of those horrible and horrid relatives of hers that had come over and overstayed their welcome. Throughout the past few weeks, it had been one sympathizer after the other, and I was sick of it.
I was sick of pretending. Sick of crying and grieving in front of my relatives and friends, cursing Charlotte for killing my children after we had done everything to care for her when deep down, I knew the truth about who was really responsible for their murder.
Eloise had slowly gotten used to the fact that they weren’t with us anymore. It was hard at first, very hard for her. But she just had to, and I played my part to help her move on.
