Chapter 54

Yaya’s POV

For some reason, Charlotte couldn’t concentrate on her work this morning, and I had to ask her to leave. I noticed the head maid wasn’t pleased with the fact that Charlotte got exempted from work. It was the second time I had allowed her to do that. When Charlotte left for her room, the head maid walked up to me immediately and stated her displeasure.

But I didn’t care. Charlotte was my ward, and I myself had brought her here, so only I could say what she did and didn’t do.

After I was done with my business for the day, I made my way to the maid’s quarters. On my way, I bumped into Jade, who was holding a tray of tea.

“Where are you off to with that?” I asked.

“Oh, I had taken it to Charlotte Madame since she seemed off this morning.”

I scanned through the contents of the tray and saw that nothing had been touched.
