Chapter 60
Charlotte’s POV
As soon as I got out of the car, I asked the guards to take the drinks to the kitchen for me. I couldn’t breathe. Throughout the journey back to the castle, I kept thinking about Aunt Eloise. Why was she here, and if she had come to look for me, why she hadn’t come to meet me? I decided to take a stroll to the gardens and clear my head.
The gardens were a beautiful sight at night because of the gorgeous variety of flowers, the lighting, the entire place. It was quiet, too, the perfect spot for me to think.
Memories of my past began to flood my memory. Memories of my life with my aunt, her husband, and the two children. I didn’t get a good look at aunt Eloise, or else I would have been able to tell if Faith and Nadia were okay.
Suddenly all my worries and the nightmares of my past began to flood my senses. The worst part was that I wasn’t sure about anything. I was just here, hoping that all was well. That was all I could do now.
Hope.
