Chapter 57

Kane’s POV

“How is she doing?” I asked nervously as Yaya came out of her office.

She smiled and touched my shoulders. 

“She’s okay. You do not have to worry. She’s resting now. You can take her back in a couple of hours, and I’ll come to check on her personally every day till she births her pup,” she said reassuringly.

I let out a sigh of relief. The past few days had been tough on Gina. There were a few complications with her pregnancy, and she had been restless. Yaya assured me that it was normal, especially as the pregnant mother drew near to her delivery time, but I still felt alarmed about everything. I saw Gina in pain, and I couldn’t stand it.

“Okay,” I replied.

“Why don’t you go away for now? Let her rest.”

I nodded. “Yeah, I’ll do that.” I smiled back, then turned and walked away.

I had taken barely a few steps when Thor mind-linked me. 

“My office, now,” he said in the mind link. What an idiot.
