Chapter 59
Corie’s POV
“Corie...Corie!”
I woke up. I didn’t realize I had fallen asleep in the kitchen while sitting and waiting for the chicken to cook in the oven.
“Corie!”
I heard it clearly. Eloise yelling from the sitting room. I got up and ran to the sitting room. She was standing at the center of the living room and shaking all over from head to toe. Another good look at her, and I saw that her claws were out.
“Eloise...what’s going on? Calm down.”
“I saw her, Corie. I saw that bastard of a girl!” She shrieked. Her eyes were switching colors intermittently, and I could tell she was on the brink of shifting.
“Eloise...” I reached out for her and hugged her. “Please calm down. Let’s sit down and talk about whatever is troubling you,” I whispered.
After a lot of groaning and short, loud breaths, she finally relaxed. Her claws went back in, and she reduced in size. I led her to the couch that was closest to us, and we both sat down. Suddenly s
