Magnus’s POV

Now I’m here to take back what’s mine. My mate. I was the one who watched her when she didn’t even realize. I was the one who remembered her voice when the world forgot. I am the one meant to stand beside her when her voice eventually returns.

I have given Kieran enough time to enjoy, but not anymore, not with them getting closer every single day. That ends tonight.

She is mine.

Looking at her draped in that red hood, she looked majestic, regal, and almost untouchable, and I wanted to claim her immediately. It was now her turn to drink from the goblet.

She lifted the ceremonial goblet, fingers trembling only slightly. Then her lips touched the rim, and she drank the contents. The moment the liquid slid down her throat, her back arched, and she staggered. My whole body went tense, and my wolf slammed forward inside me, snarling. She collapsed to her knees as if something tore through her.

“Elara,” I whispered. I took a step forw
