Chapter 47
Elara’s POV
We finally made it back to our room. The journey from the infirmary to our room was barely five minutes, yet my chest felt heavier with each step. It was as if my body had arrived before my mind did. The moment the door shut behind us, it was like all the noise outside went dead silent. But inside me? Chaos everywhere.
“Tonight was a long one,” Kieran muttered, shrugging off his top.
I didn’t answer; I just stood there in the center of the room, frozen. My chest was tight. Too tight.
He stepped forward and gently caught my arm. “Moya,” he said quietly, turning me to face him. His voice was low, like he was trying not to spook me. “I know. Tonight was the longest one yet... especially for you.”
His hands moved carefully, beginning to undress me, removing the hood and slipping fabric over my head. “Just shower,” he murmured, “so you can finally rest.”
But I couldn’t move.
I sucked in the air, but it felt like it wasn’t reach
