Chapter 10
Naomi's boots crunched dried leaves that had fallen as she threaded the paths leading to the dungeon, her destination, Arayah's cage. It was Autumn already and every one of the leaves was turning orange and falling to the ground. Naomi had gotten to understand that this was Arayah's favorite season and how it reminded her a lot about her former home which was now in ruins.
Naomi was a thoughtful old lady and she made sure she picked colored leaves, the best of them all. Placing them in a basket and arranging them on the floor of the basket, she placed Arayah's lunch in it, hoping the girl would love it.
In no time, she was a few centimeters away from the cave leading into the dungeon. Naomi entered and with her enhanced vision, she was able to see through the extremely tenebrous cave. She greeted the only guard placed to watch the area, earning her a single nod and a nose upturn. Naomi ignored him and proceeded.
