Honestly, I felt nervous, but I realized I had no other options. So, I decided to follow him back to his territory. Deep down, I just wanted Randall to move away as soon as possible because his touch was making me dizzy, and I was relieved when he released me and walked away.
As I followed him through the woods, I noticed the pack members—dirty and even injured—looking at me with a certain bitterness. I felt guilty for making them hunt me, when they should have been resting after their encounter with the humans. From the sharp looks in their eyes, it was clear that the pack was anticipating my return, eager to confine me once again.
When Randall gave orders and guided us through the forest, I kept silent and stayed close to the female wolves to avoid trouble. I didn’t dare approach the wolf who had helped me hide behind the building, fearing that Randall would hold him responsible.
Even though my legs ached from the long walk, and the clear sky began to turn orange
