Odette’s POV

The time is already past 8pm but Malachi is not back yet. He left me at the office a while back and he hasn’t returned yet. The driver asked if he should take me home but I refused. He told me he was coming soon so I am going to wait for him.

A gentle knock on the door jolts me out of my thoughts and I raise my head to see Emma saunter into the office.

“Ma’am” she bows lightly, “it is already late. How about I ask the driver to send you home. Maybe the boss might not come back”

“Did you try to call him?”

“He didn’t answer my call, ma’am” she answers and I let out a sigh. Where the hell is my husband?

Just as I open my mouth to talk, my mobile starts to ring and Jayden’s name pops up.

“Excuse me” I pick up my phone and press it against my ear, “hello”

“Odette” his voice filters through, “can you go to the office for me? I left a file on dad’s desk and no one is allowed to enter his office aside from the three of us.
