Chapter 6
Kelvin’s POV
“You are beautiful,” I spoke into the microphone, watching her intently.
She jumped at my voice, scraped her heel on the floor, and started to fall, then righted herself. Her action reminded me of clumsy Grace Hampton.
“Good evening. I didn’t know someone was…” her voice trailed off, and I frowned. I could swear that voice belonged to Grace. I moved closer and peered at the lady, and then I noticed the blonde hair was fake.
My heart started pounding ferociously. “What’s your name?” I asked, not believing the woman before me was my former employee.
She took a long time to reply, and finally, she spoke softly. “Sue. My name is Sue.”
Your name isn’t Sue, Grace, I muttered inwardly.
I decided on my final straw. “Take off your mask; I need to see your face properly.”
She hesitated, and then slowly, she removed the mask and stood awkwardly before me. My eyes nearly popped out of their sockets. I sank into a seat as I watc
