Chapter 29. Yes, I do

Amelie’s POV

What is going on? Why is everyone running in and out of Zander’s room?

I started down the hallway towards his room, and Nathan grabbed my hand.

“Don’t, Amelie,” he pleaded. “Let’s find out what’s going on first.”

I looked up at him. I know he was right, but I couldn’t wait. I struggled free from his grasp, and I pushed my way to the door.

“ZANDER!” I cried out in shock as I saw an entire team working on Zander. The tears started to fall heavily. “NO! SAVE HIM! PLEASE SAVE HIM!” I sobbed. Suddenly, a pair of strong arms enveloped me. Nathan, I could tell by his scent.

“You need to leave the room so we can do our job, Miss,” a young nurse said as she backed us towards the door.

“I CAN’T LEAVE HIM!” I screamed.
