“Dr. Morris, please check him. I think he is waking up,” Regina sobbed.

“Regina, calm down, let the doctor look at him,“ Sylvia said, holding her daughter.

Dr. Morris looked down at the unconscious form of Giannis, he was really worried about raising the hopes of Regina Drakos. The woman had been so devoted to her husband since he had been admitted.

He felt really sorry for her as his eyes traced the myriad of wires and tubes that connected the man to the machines surrounding him. Regina had relayed the news of Giannis twitching his fingers with a glimmer of hope in her eyes. However, now, as Dr. Morris checked his vitals, the steady beep of the heart monitor and unchanging numbers on the medical equipment painted a less optimistic picture.

Giannis was still very much in a state of coma. He didn’t look like he was waking up anytime soon. Dr. Morris found it difficult to relay that information to Regina, who was watching him with hope shining in her eyes.
