Chapter 32. The Woman Who Once Rejected Me

SASHA’S POV

“Mom… you’re here?” I asked, stunned. “No way, right?”

My voice trembled—I couldn’t trust my own eyes. I pinched my arm repeatedly, terrified this was a dream. No, not even that. I’d stopped dreaming of seeing Mom years ago, after she left me like she wished I’d never been born.

“Sasha… it’s Mom, sweetie!”

The woman who once rejected me, who said how disappointed she was, now stood before me. I froze, unsure what to do. Should I hug her, or run, scared she’d deny me as her daughter again?

“Sasha, my girl?” Mom said again. “I’ve missed you so much, sweetie!”

She stepped closer, hesitantly reaching out. Tears slowly rolled down her cheeks, smudging the makeup on her beautiful, carefully painted face.

“You’re so gorgeous, Sha,” she whispered softly, “my daughter…”

My heart clenched when she called me that again. The person I thought was gone from my life was back, claiming me as her daughter. Was Mom really accepting me again?
