SASHA’S POV

Daniel’s shout was so loud, it broke my heart even more. My sobs made my chest feel like it was caving in.

What does Mom want? I’ve done everything she’s asked. Why can’t she let go of her pain—just for a little while?

Whatever Dad and Freya did in the past, it’s not fair to take it out on my brother. He’s innocent. He shouldn’t be called a whore’s child.
