Chapter 44. Cousins
SASHA’S POV
I stared at Sam. His story about Noah’s father blew my mind. Really? I was questioning everything he said.
“So, Uncle Vincent won’t come after me and Noah anymore?” I asked, doubtful, remembering how just days ago he’d done the opposite. “Because of Dad?”
Sam nodded. “That’s why I brought Vincent to see your dad.”
I still wasn’t sure I believed it, but it did explain why Uncle Vincent had gone so quiet when we crossed paths. He didn’t say a word. He even looked away when I stared at him.
I’d even wondered if Dad had somehow cursed him, made him impotent—so he couldn’t touch me anymore.
“He told me,” Sam said, his eyes drifting away, “when he met your dad, he realized what he did to you wasn’t worth it—even with what your dad did with his wife. He said he could forgive Freya for cheating with your dad, even if it took time. But if his daughter had gone through what you did, he would’ve sent your dad straight to hell.”
Tears rolled
