Chapter 47. Long Island

"Are you guys done? Mrs. Harper said she was starving," Michael suddenly appeared from behind the door.

Sarah breathed a sigh of relief. At least she didn't have to react to Matthew's statement earlier.

"Well, I'm starving, too! Let's go!" Sarah said as she walked out quickly to the car. "Granny, where did you get that from?" Sarah asked as she saw Granny licking a lollipop.

"From there," said Granny, pointing to the pocket behind the driver's seat. Sarah took a deep breath, but seeing Granny's happy face made her smile slightly.

Shortly after, Matthew got into the car. He glanced at Sarah momentarily, but then his gaze shifted to Granny.

"Granny, do you like Mexican food?" Matthew asked gently.
