Chapter 51. He Is Dead
That morning, Sarah woke up feeling completely different. Beatrice's words touched her heart. No longer, social status made her feel unworthy, but something even more significant than that.
"Sarah?" suddenly a voice startled her. At that time, she was standing pensive by the kitchen window.
"Matthew, you're awake!"
Matthew smiled as he nodded his head.
"What are you thinking about?" he asked, hugging her from behind.
"Nothing," she lied.
Matthew was silent momentarily, and then he removed his hand from her waist.
"Did Beatrice say anything to you?" he asked suspiciously.
Sarah shook her head, "Say what? Is there anything I need to know?"
"No, but why do you look sad?"
"Me? Look sad? Really? But I'm not feeling sad at all," Sarah said lightly.
