Chapter 6. The Training Days
“Granny, I have to go to work for a week, and Matthew will accompany you. If I manage to pass the probationary period, I will probably be away for three to six months, but don’t worry; there will be a friend who will come to visit every day to make sure you’re okay,” Sarah said while holding Granny’s hand gently.
Granny’s face was gloomy. She looked at Sarah intently, “You’re going to be all right, aren’t you?” she asked anxiously.
Sarah smiled, “I’m fine. I’m so excited and can’t wait to do the job! When you miss me, just imagine this place...” Sarah took a picture of a beautiful white farmhouse in Washington County and gave it to Granny.
“We will live there and have a large field. You will sit in the yard in the afternoon watching our workers take care of the cows and horses, then I will appear from inside the house bringing a cup of hot tea and Carrot Cake for you,” chirped Sarah while looking at the picture of the farmhouse.
