Chapter 13. Homemaker
“When they wake up, they’ll be hungry,” says Rick as he takes out a chopping board and knife.
I genuinely don’t know what kids like eating except sweets. “What are we making?” I ask him.
“The easiest way for kids to eat their veggies,” he says. “Pizza and fried rice.”
“Mmm. Never mind kids, even adults,” I say with a grin. After all that sweet junk food, I feel like having real, savory, wholesome food.
I marvel at how Rick deftly prepares the food. I only follow his instructions if there’s anything that needs to be cleaned, chopped, or stirred. I wonder where he got the time to learn so much stuff. Not only is he a great architect, but he loves outdoor activities and knows so much about nature. He’s a good cook, a great father, and a big reader. It’s like he’s got thirty hours in the day or something.
