Chapter 23
“That is a beautiful horse you got there. Does it have a name?” one of the riders asked.
“Ariel, his name is Ariel,” I answered, holding my horse close and looking into his eyes. I was so proud of the horse that Duke gave to me.
“Hope you stay behind me, Ariel,” he said and laughed.
I got the dark humor, but I was not in the mood for any bad energy. All I wanted to do was to focus on the race ahead of me, and soon, the gunshot was fired, and the race began.
I had galloped at high speeds with Ariel before, so it was not the first time. I started off fair, being in the fourth position out of eight riders. I then tried to increase my speed, and I was riding in the second position. The speed was too much for me as I felt I was losing air, but I decided to hang on.
