Chapter 3

Suarez was not happy that Dave was still alive, so he called Allister. Allister answered the phone and informed Suarez that he was still working on it. Suarez demanded a single answer, shouting angrily, “Why is this job difficult? Finish it within seventy-two hours!” and abruptly ended the call. Frustrated, Suarez called one of his guards to bring him some whisky.

Max approached Suarez and said, “The d****er just arrived.” Suarez ordered his men to let him in. It was Jenko, a d****er from Jamaica. Suarez greeted Jenko with a smile and approached him. They shook hands and exchanged pleasantries. Suarez suggested they go to the poolside to discuss business.

The swimming pool was filled with women wearing bikinis. Suarez and Jenko sat by the pool, enjoying whisky and discussing their trade. Jenko asked about Dave, and Suarez’s expression immediately changed. He stood up and walked to the pool’s edge, with Jenko following.

Suarez revealed to Jenko the presence of Allister, the assassin, who was on their trail. Jenko promised to send one of his strongest allies to find Dave. Suarez laughed, reminding Jenko of his own reputation and connections, asserting that Dave was nobody compared to him.

Jenko anxiously asked about George’s identity, and Suarez explained George’s military background and his numerous successful missions before being discharged. Jenko offered to join forces with Suarez to capture Dave.

Meanwhile, George, Dave, and Martha arrived in Georgia at precisely 13:00. Harper was already waiting for them. They parked in front of him and stepped out of the car. George embraced Harper first, followed by a handshake with Dave and Martha. Harper led them inside his house, served them coffee, and lowered the volume of the music playing. George asked about Harper’s well-being and his wife and two kids.

Harper smiled and replied that his wife was visiting their grandfather in New York with the kids. Harper then asked about George’s presence in Georgia and how he could assist. George explained that he had been discharged from duty just three months after returning from a special mission in Paris. He had decided to stay with his friend Dave in North Carolina. George described Dave’s personality and introduced Martha, concluding that they were currently on the run from a deadly assassin who was targeting them. Harper asked why, and George provided details about Suarez, the Colombian d*** lord, his notoriety, and connections. Dave had inadvertently disrupted one of Suarez’s operations.

Harper looked at Dave in shock and asked, “How did he manage that alone?” Dave explained that he didn’t work alone; his girlfriend played a crucial role as his spy, assisting in dealings with a d*** ca***l across the border. Harper expressed his concern about Dave’s actions and asked George about the assassin’s identity.

George mentioned the name Allister, prompting Harper to get up and retrieve a portrait from the wall. He pointed to one of the men in the portrait, confirming that it was Allister. Harper revealed that Allister was an ex-military operative who was presumed dead after being part of an extraction team sent to Libya. Harper was surprised to hear his name again. Martha pleaded with Harper to help them, expressing her fear that Allister might be closing in. Harper looked at George and nodded, agreeing to assist them.

Harper led them to a forest filled with trees, where they discovered a small wooden house hidden among the green fields. It was a sight neither Martha nor Dave had ever seen before. Inside, they found an array of weapons: M16 rifles, shotguns, pistols, snipers, sabers, and grenades. Martha was amazed, Dave nodded in awe, and George smiled, expressing his confidence in Harper’s assistance.

“Four men were found dead in Columbus town in the city of Georgia,” the newscaster announced on the television. George turned down the volume. Dave glanced at Martha and remarked that the city was becoming rough. Harper chuckled, stating that there were numerous killings daily in Georgia, and only the strongest survived.

Meanwhile, Allister arrived at a bar in Columbus Town. He entered a small bar and ordered a drink, surveying the faces around him. The bar was neither empty nor crowded.

Allister showed a picture to the bartender, which depicted Dave, asking if he had seen such a person in the bar that day. The bartender shook his head, claiming not to know or recognize anyone fitting that description. He suggested that Allister try the bar down the street. Curious about Allister’s identity, the bartender received a devilish look and was told to mind his own business.

Allister thanked him for the drink, left some dollars on the counter, and exited the bar. He hopped on his bike and received another call from Suarez, who asked about any updates. Allister advised Suarez to keep watching the news.
