Chapter 4

Suarez had called on his men staying in Georgia City, sent them the pictures of Dave, Martha, and George, and demanded that they be executed within 48 hours.

Dave and Martha went to the supermarket to get some food. While inside the supermarket, they saw Allister passing by. Martha immediately froze and quickly made the payment. She and Dave hurriedly left for the house. Upon reaching the house, they informed George and Harper that Allister was in the city. George wasn’t surprised, and Harper told them they needed to leave the country.

Dave suggested going to Mexico, and George asked for suggestions on how they could escape the country. Harper told them he had a friend who could help them get a fake passport, which would facilitate their departure.

Martha then served the food she had prepared, and they all had dinner together before heading out to obtain the document and the fake passport.

Harper took them to Max, a skilled hacker who could assist them. Harper introduced them to Max and his friends, explained the situation, and informed Max that they needed a fake passport to leave the country discreetly without Suarez’s spies finding out. Max readily agreed and warned George to be cautious due to his military background.

Max got to work, altering their names, completing other necessary tasks, and printing the fake passport. This was Max’s area of expertise, as he made the forgery look exactly like the original. He handed it to Harper, who would handle it for George.

They planned to leave for the airport within the next five hours while Max worked on securing a ticket for them. George, Dave, and Harper returned home to gather their belongings, while Martha stayed with Max.

While on their way home, one of Suarez’s spies spotted Dave and recognized him from the car. The spy alerted his accomplices of their destination, and they followed them. As they reached the house, George rushed inside and picked up some bags with Harper while Dave waited in the car. Dave heard noises and looked through the side mirrors. He saw several cars rapidly approaching. George hurried out of the house with Harper, and they got into the car. Dave wasted no time and quickly sped away. However, the chase continued, with the enemy firing bullets at Dave’s car.

George fired back, and Harper tried to intimidate their pursuers, but their numbers were overwhelming. Determined to eliminate them, the thugs relentlessly pursued them. The situation escalated, and a police officer who had been trailing them unknowingly became involved. As the officer looked into his side mirror, he was shocked to see cars approaching from behind.

One of the thugs shot out the officer’s tire, causing him to crash. The chase persisted, with Dave eventually driving into a forest, parking far away, and seeking refuge in an unfinished building. Despite their attempts to hide, the thugs managed to track them down. There were over fifteen vehicles and thirty-five men in pursuit.

George glanced out of the window, seeing their adversaries, and smiled. He told Harper that it would be like the old days for him. Harper and George exchanged gunfire, utilizing their training and marksmanship skills to gain an advantage.

Dave, although less experienced, had been involved in previous shootings during package thefts. With George and Harper’s support, Dave managed to take down three men. Five enemies remained, and the exchange of gunfire continued. Harper threw a grenade, which exploded, calming the scene temporarily. Dave emerged from the hideout and shot the injured men to ensure their demise. They swiftly departed in their car, intending to meet up with Max.

However, Allister, their nemesis, unexpectedly appeared in the middle of the road. Dave instinctively stopped the car, attempting to reverse. Harper, however, told him to wait and immediately called Max, instructing him to ensure Dave and George’s safe passage out of the country. Harper made it clear that he wouldn’t be joining them as he had unfinished business to attend to. He instructed George to take an alternate route to meet Max while he confronted Allister.

George realized that Harper’s decision was a suicide mission and tried to dissuade him. Nevertheless, Allister approached slowly, cigarette in his left hand and a pistol in his right. Harper stepped out of the car, and Dave followed the route Harper had instructed them to take.

When Allister saw Harper, he smiled and remarked that it had been a while. He clarified that he wasn’t there for Harper and demanded that he step aside. Harper asked how Allister survived the extraction attack and why he hadn’t returned to the military since he was still alive. Allister’s anger intensified upon hearing about his past, leading him to deliver a powerful punch to Harper’s face.

Harper spat out blood, laughed, and defiantly told Allister, “Just like the old days, let’s do this one more time.”

Allister dropped his gun, folded his arms, and prepared to engage in a fight with Harper. Harper swiftly launched a punch at Allister, and the two engaged in a fierce battle, showcasing their martial arts skills. Despite his resilience, Harper suffered from the pain inflicted by Allister’s powerful punches and hard kicks. One of Allister’s blows broke Harper’s rib, leaving him on the ground, struggling to breathe.

Allister approached Harper and told him that he had been warned about the consequences. He demanded that Harper provide information about Dave and George to spare his life. Harper smiled defiantly and told Allister to go to hell. Enraged, Allister repeatedly stabbed Harper, leaving his lifeless body in the middle of the desolate road. Allister wiped his dagger with Harper’s clothes, mounted his bike, and resumed his pursuit of Dave.
