He didn’t turn back to have one last look at her. And Lucy could hear him chuckling as he shook his head, his voice fading into the distance.
Lucy’s heart tightened and she swallowed. Her eyes left the door and she glanced upstairs where her parents had headed.
She wiped her tears furiously and gave the security guy a guarded look. He wouldn’t follow her parents’ instructions right?
All the servants loved and adored her, the securities weren’t an exception. He’d surely understand her out of this chaos. The servants had always understood her.
Her fingers clutched the straps of her bag and she took a hasty step toward the door, her heart drumming again.
