Chapter 33. Proving a Point

Emma accompanied Audrey to the kitchen where she made some bacon and hot coffee, they both sat at the dining table, slowly chewing on the food. “ I barely had any sleep last night ” Emma explain after chewing the last piece of food in her mouth. “ Your father called ”.

“ What! My father called you? ”.

“ Yes Audrey, not just he called, he called at midnight, he sounded distressed ”.

“ Worried about what? ”.

“ You, of course, were not picking up his call and he wanted to speak to you”. Audrey rolled her eyes, stuffing her mouth with food. “ So he could ask me for money again, Emma that man sold something that didn't belong to him, and not to forget, that's why am here in the first place”. “ And don't make it sound like there is a bad place to be, please Audrey, I know he wronged you, but he is the only family you have left, go visit him and give him the little that you can.” “ I don't know, we will see about that, for now, I have to get ready for work”. ****
