Elaine stood at the doorway that led into the major part of the office, where all the cubicles, desks, and chairs were clustered together. She peered out around the corner, hoping that someone wouldn’t see her and ask questions.
Somehow, her kidnap hadn’t made the news, and she was not about to explain her continuous failure to pick up the important documents she needed.
