Chapter 17
Diana peered through the massive window of her chamber. The majestic morning sun gave her uncomfortable feelings; though it didn't hurt much, she had to squint. Rising off the sun-scorched curtain. She groaned at the ache in her head and felt exhausted, like she had just run a two-week marathon. And even after half a day of rest, her eyes felt scraped. The heat, combined with the periodic songs of birds and other insects, wasn't helping her either. It was like everything was loud and so bright that even the enormous scenery of the lake on the horizon made it difficult to maintain an accurate perception of mind.
She didn't feel as if her mind was streaking along at a mile an hour, but in any circumstance, she should have been thinking a lot slower and being bored, yet she felt like she came from a mile of running.
