Chapter 20
The hospital was filled with patients. It wasn’t as busy as it should be on a working day. Other nurses had rushed out when Aria and Mrs. Kate appeared. The doctor stopped her from entering a room. He pulled her to a halt, “Get the paperwork ready. We’re heading into the theatre immediately. The Alzheimer’s has clotted blood vessels and needs to be operated on.”
Everything sounded strange and appeared blurry to Aria. There she was, thinking her life was getting better in a new place, and everything was crumbling again right before her eyes, and she was helpless. Heeding the doctor’s advice, she rushed back to the receptionist to make proper entries.
Soon, she signed the papers and sent them to the doctor. The same had happened when her mother had been diagnosed with a life-threatening sickness. She had run from post to pole, confused and in much disarray. It didn’t make much sense that all of these were happening to her again, even without Paul being there.
