Chapter 25
Aria immediately shielded her pursed lips with her palms half-grinning. She hadn’t meant to let that out.
“I mean, he has been apologizing on your behalf,” she revised.
“My brother is relentless. I love him for that attitude sometimes, but other times, I wish he doesn’t try to get in my way and do much of my job for me,” Nick said.
“He’s your brother, and it naturally feels right to him to come in when he should be helpful to you,” said Aria.
“Yes, I know, I know. He goes way overboard to score himself sometimes. But let’s not talk about him. We are not here for either my brother or my secretary; we are here for each other, and we should better start talking about ourselves.”
“Hmm…That sounds serious and caring,” Aria said, biting into her cake.
“So, I wanted to start by apologizing for everything that happened, Aria.”
“Your brother has done much of that, but I don’t mind hearing from you again like I heard from you over the phone,” Aria sai
