Chapter 28
When Angeline received Nick’s email that she had been fired and should never consider coming back to work, she thought it was some joke. She called Adela and some other staff to ask them what was going on, and they all told her what Nick had instructed them to tell her: that the company didn’t need her services anymore. Nick had blocked her from reaching him, so she called Mike, but Mike didn’t take her calls or respond to her many texts. She knew that the reason behind Nick’s decision wasn’t far from what she did to Aria.
She was still shocked about how things escalated. She never, in her wildest thoughts, imagined that she would be fired because of an insignificant girl she was trying to get out of the way. She never considered it possible, but now that the unexpected and the inevitable were staring her in the face, she must prepare herself to fight back.
