Chapter 16. Feeling Guilty
Kate's POV
Sitting idle in the luxury I didn’t deserve, I could only think of how I betrayed the innocent noblewoman and hurt Matt's sentiments. She didn’t deserve to die; I didn’t know she would die. I was only suspecting Catherine, Matt’s mother, to be the killer. On the other hand, her voice and cry on the phone earlier described how much she loved and cared for Matt.
Furthermore, Angela would have been the right person to be tagged a killer, as she nearly killed me the last time she hit that killer hill. That woman has no mercy and is too inhumane. I felt like an animal that day! She should have even helped me out after she pushed; I would have accepted her ‘sorry’ anyways.
Thinking about these, my phone vibrated. It was Cassandra! At last, she texted me.
The message read, “Hey Nightingale silly girl, I’m from the country. Sorry if it may hurt you!”
“I’m sorry for ghosting you, okay? I got myself into trouble,” I quickly ran my fingers on the screen
