Chapter 39. The Note (2)
Anna stared at the guy, her heart feeling heavy and burdened with worry and fear. She wished she could have laughed at his joke but she was just not in the mood. How would she when she had just received a death threat for the first time in her life after she had decided to live an independent life?
“It’s that serious,” Zac mumbled, worry evident in his tone.
She nodded. “I don’t think I should tell you anything else. I think I should just show you.” She swallowed hard as she hooked some of her hair behind her ears and stood to her feet.
Zac did not say anything else, he stood up too, and followed her out of the living room and into her room. He was impressed by how clean it was. He had not cleaned him, his plan was to come back after work and maybe try to do that.
But even he knew that was just a lie. After work, he would be tired, and won’t even have the strength or desire to clean. But at least it was a lie that he was going to keep telling
