Chapter 44. Get to Work

Anna got to work, it was not easy to do that because her mind was all over the place and she was not focused. Her heart felt heavy and kept beating so fast. 

She could not help but think whether going to the police was enough, or if the person who had slipped the note under the apartment door was going to come back. She also worried about Zac, she had let out her anger on the guy and now that she was sitting alone with her thoughts, she kind of felt bad. 

She tried to focus but it was just not so easy. Her heart kept skipping beats as if it knew that she was in danger. 

She ran her hand through her hair and stood to her feet. How was she supposed to work? It felt like her life was slowly falling apart. And the sad thing was that she could not even reach out to her family.
