Zac exhaled sharply, raking a hand through his hair in frustration. “Anna, you’re being ridiculous,” He muttered. “You’re letting Liam get into your head.”
Anna let out a bitter laugh, shaking her head. “You think this is about Liam? Do you honestly think I’m dumb? You lied to me about a message you got on your phone the last time. And I know, I just know that you also lied about not talking to my mom. I know you did.”
“I didn’t!” He exclaimed, waving his hands for emphasis.
But she still did not believe him. Her eyes burned with unshed tears, but she refused to let them fall. “You see, I don’t need Liam or someone else to tell me when something does not add up. My gut is telling me you’re hiding something, and that you have been doing that since we came to this city. I’m done ignoring it.”
