But this time, the paper was much rougher. She stared at it, the silence in the apartment very loud. Her breathing was now labored and her heart thumped in her chest. 

She reluctantly opened it and on it were the words written in perfect cursive, “Quit your job, last chance.” 

“I want to but I don’t know how!” She exclaimed in frustration. She had tried, but Liam had her just where he wanted her. There was no way for her to escape, no matter how hard she tried. 

She was not smarter than the guy and did not have as much power, money, and influence as he did. How was she supposed to quit when it felt like she was in a prison that had no keys?

She stared at the words once more and then walked over to the living room. Her heart was still pounding in her chest as if she was being chased by a wild animal. When she reached where she was headed, she sat on the couch and pulled out her phone, making sure to open the camera app.
