Chapter 92. Two Checks

The man was in disbelief. “Can I see the checks?” 

Anna did not mind. She ran her hand through her hair before fishing out her phone and taking the checks from her case. 

She handed them to the guard and for some reason, her heart thumped with nervousness. What if the checks were not real?

What if they were fake and Sue just wanted to mess with her? But at the same time, she did not think the girl would do something like that.

The man took the checks and stared at them for a few seconds before lifting his head and locking eyes with. “Come with me,” he said in a serious tone as he started walking. 

Anna followed the man and they walked past the cue of people before walking down a hallway. They soon stopped in front of one of the doors.

The man knocked on the door light and then a voice came through from inside, it was a bit muffled. “Yes?”

“It’s me, Gus. I have someone who wants to cash out a few checks.”
