Chapter 110. A Choice of Chains

Anna clenched her fists. “You can’t just barge in here and decide my life for me,” she snapped, stepping back from her mother’s grasp. “I’m not a child anymore. This is one of the reasons I left. I’m sorry to say but you’re controlling, and always have been.”

Her father’s jaw tightened as if he knew where things were going. He knew that he was not okay with all of this and wanted her to be happy. 

But at the same time, he knew that he hated being on his wife’s bad side. He knew how she could be. 

“Honey, you got expelled from school, and you’re literally mixed up in a murder investigation, and God knows what else. We just want the best for you. We want you to be safe.” He gave her a soft smile, his eyes begging her to agree to go back with them. 

Her mother scoffed. “Stop babying her. Since she wants to be an adult and thinks I’m so controlling, then I would have no choice but to do what I’m about to do.”
