Chapter 60. A Special Guest
Anna moved through the crowded halls of the school, the familiar noise and chatter providing a sense of normalcy she had missed. The school day passed uneventfully, filled with classes, assignments, and the occasional friendly nod from classmates. By lunchtime, she had settled into a routine, her mind briefly free from the shadows of the past.
As she sat alone at a table in the cafeteria, eating her lunch and scrolling through her phone, a message notification caught her eye. It was from an unknown number. Frowning, she opened it, intrigued as to who it could be:
‘Miss me?’
Anna’s eyebrows furrowed in confusion as she tried to think of who it could be. Could it be Kevin playing a prank on her? She knew that her brother was good at things like that and that he enjoyed them.
The more she stared at the text, the more a feeling settled in her. What if it was not her brother? But if it was not, then who could it be? She was genuinely intrigued.
