Anna’s father called from inside, “Anna, come in! We should celebrate this news.” She smiled at the thought of a small family celebration, a much-needed reprieve from the tension that had gripped their lives for so long.
She closed the door and due to the fact that they had been so careful for the past few months, she locked it. Even though the Marinos were in custody and all of that, she felt like her associates could still find this place, wanting revenge.
She had not much to worry about when it came to that because the only people who could hurt them were Armano and Vitos. Besides the two, due to the demon king’s contract, they were protected.
But she still locked the door anyway because who knows?
Inside, the atmosphere was lighter than it had been in months. There was no more paranoia, no more intense worry that their house could get shot up at any moment. Things were normal for once in so long.
