Chapter 11. A Vacation with Him

Claire’s POV

After breakfast, we took a stroll along the beachfront, checking out the Manhattan Beach Pier, and strolling along The Strand. We returned to Jason’s house, and he wanted to cook me a special lunch. “What are you making? Can I help?” I asked, but he shook his head firmly. 

“Please, let me chop something,” I asked again, and he handed me carrots and potatoes to dice.

“I didn’t know you can cook,” I said as I diced.

“Both Jordan and I can cook. In fact, we used to have turns making dinner. Dad would escape since he would come late from work,” he said, grinning. Jordan is Jason’s elder brother whom I had met a few times before. He’s three years older than Jason and looked exactly like him.

“So, are you making steak soup?” I asked, but he kept cooking with a smile on his face.

“Impressive,” he said, as he left it to simmer. After some time, we had a delicious lunch of steak soup served with roasted garlic and herb dinner rolls. Later
