Chapter 6
Leticia’s head pounded like never before, and her entire body felt like it had been destroyed completely and put back together, just like Humpty Dumpty. She forced her heavy lids to open, and she found herself staring at a rocky wall.
Funny, she didn’t remember her room looking like a cave. She tried to pick up her limbs but found them to be too heavy. She turned her head both ways, trying to get an eye full of the place she was in, but all she could see were smooth, brown-red walls of earth. To her left was a sturdy wooden table that had various wooden bowls on it, and to her right was a cluster of strange, beautiful plants growing from the ground.
Where was she?
She forced herself to sit up, wincing at the soreness in her body, before gasping at the onslaught of blinding pain in her left foot. Suddenly, her memories came rushing back to her — coming back from school and being attacked by Lori, breaking her ankle in a ditch, waking up
