She was a cute, redhead smiling appreciatively at the two men. The I’m a duke type. Aaron and Nathan coined this phrase for women they thought would be interested in him if he told her he was a duke. Emily was the I’m a duke type. Or was she? Maybe she was just the I want your shares type.
“No redheads for a while. Or blondes. Or—”
“Anyone?” Aaron grinned, lifting the bottle high up in the air and pouring vodka down his throat like it was water.
“Or anyone,” Nathan confirmed, who was now, having matched Aaron drink for drink, completely wasted.
“She must be something. I was sure no woman could break the great Nathan Dormer.”
Nathan thought about the last time he saw Emily. The dress, the flowers, the candlelit dinner, the wine, that damn dress. Everything was exactly right. They were exactly right.
“Stupid Lydia,” Nathan grumbled. “Stupid Madz. Stupid me,” he sighed, dropping face first on the table.
